WALBERG SUPPORTS ENDING PENSIONS FOR CONGRESSIONAL FELONS

U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI) today issued the following statement after voting for legislation prohibiting a Member of Congress from receiving a pension if convicted of a felony.

"Members of Congress should be held to the same ethical and professional standards that hard-working Americans are subject to every day. This common-sense reform is necessary as we continue to change the culture in Washington, D.C. and move towards greater accountability in Congress. The American taxpayers shouldn't see their hard-earned dollars subsidizing the retirement of felons."
