Statement Of Governor John Hoeven On The Passing Of North Dakota House Speaker Janet Wentz

BISMARCK, N.D. - Governor John Hoeven today issued the following statement upon learning of the death of North Dakota Speaker of the House Janet Wentz:

"Mikey and I extend our deepest sympathy to Tom and the entire Wentz family on Janet's passing. Speaker Wentz served our state well for more than a quarter of a century, beginning in 1975. Even her illness did not discourage her from fulfilling her duties. Despite her courageous battle with cancer, this past session she came to Bismarck to serve the people of North Dakota with the same distinction she brought to her office for the past 25 years."

Her commitment to education and other issues vital to North Dakota helped to make our state a better place. Her contributions will be missed."
