WICKER RE-ELECTED TO REPUBLICAN POLICY COMMITTEE

U. S. Rep. Roger Wicker has been re-elected to the Republican Policy Committee, the leadership panel which will formulate policy initiatives for House Republicans in the new Congress.

Wicker, who was elected to a seventh term in November, has been a member of the Policy Committee since 2001. The Congressman was chosen Tuesday to represent the interests of the small states coalition on the panel as it works to identify emerging issues and set the agenda for legislative initiatives for the coming two years. It also produces policy statements which express the formal position of House Republicans on matters of national and international significance.

The Policy Committee includes the Republican House leadership team, key committee ranking members, and regional representatives to ensure broad consideration of issues that may come before the Congress.

"I look forward to continuing my service in this leadership role to advance issues of importance to Mississippi and the nation as a whole," Rep. Wicker said.
