Graves Holds Senior Advisory Meeting
Congressman Hears Missouri Seniors' Concerns

LIBERTY - U.S. Congressman Sam Graves today held a Senior Advisory meeting in North Kansas City. Graves met with seniors from the Sixth Congressional District to discuss issues facing them, including identity theft and the new Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan.

"The meeting was a great success. Seniors are an invaluable resource in this country. I was pleased so many seniors were able to participate in the meeting to discuss their concerns and questions with me," said Graves.

Dan Taylor of the U.S. Postal Inspections Service joined Congressman Graves. Taylor spoke to the group about common types of identity theft and how to recognize a scam in order to avoid becoming a victim. He also discussed how to protect oneself against mail and internet fraud.

"I take protection of personal property and privacy very seriously and I will continue my tough stance protecting these rights," said Graves.

Graves also spoke about the success of the new Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan.

"The new Medicare Part D program is working, and seniors are saving money," said Graves. "Over 90 percent of all Medicare beneficiaries now have drug coverage - that's 38 million seniors."

Graves is a third-term Congressman representing northwest and central Missouri. He is a Deputy Whip, and the Chairman of the Small Business Sub-Committee on Rural Enterprises, Agriculture and Technology.
