Baldwin Calls Opponent's Latest Ad a Ploy to Fool Voters
Says, "Voters, and children, deserve better."

Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin today blasted a new TV ad that distorts her record on responses to child abuse.

"Protecting our children from predators is as important to me as it is for every parent in Wisconsin," said Congresswoman Baldwin. "I strongly support tough and effective measures to punish child predators. Any suggestion to the contrary is false. This TV ad on the issue of child sexual abuse (put out by my opponent) not only distorts my record, but diminishes the seriousness of this issue…turning it into a campaign ploy to fool voters. The voters deserve better. Our children deserve better," Baldwin said.

Baldwin said she voted for the Children's Safety Act to track sex offenders when they cross state lines and voted for an amendment that would preserve judicial discretion to sentence sex offenders who fail to properly register to terms of up to twenty years. "The facts are clear to anyone interested in the truth," Baldwin said.
