Diaz-Balart: Republican Economic Policies Good for Hispanic Job Growth

Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) today praised a Pew Hispanic Center study released this week that showed a sharp drop in Hispanic unemployment.

"Hispanics are hard-working, family-oriented people who just want the opportunity to achieve the American Dream," Diaz-Balart said. "Lower unemployment rate means more Hispanics are melting into the great American quilt and that they are getting their opportunity to make a better life for themselves and for their children. There remains more room for growth, and Republicans are committed to continuing policies that help more Hispanic families to keep more of their hard-earned money and resulted in record Hispanic homeownership."

The report found that Hispanic unemployment earlier this year fell to 4.9 percent from 5.8 percent in the same period last year.
