Rep. Turner Announces Beehive Web Portal and New Partnerships to bring Computers and Web Access to Low Income Families

Dayton, Ohio - Congressman Michael R. Turner (R - Centerville) will host a news conference to announce the launch of an innovative new web portal, The Dayton Beehive (www.beehivedayton.org) and a partnership between One Economy, the AT&T Access All Initiative, Living Cities Inc. and St. Mary Development Corporation. The news conference is scheduled for Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. at the Sunrise Center.

At the news conference a new website called The Dayton Beehive (www.beehivedayton.org), will be demonstrated. The Beehive is designed to connect Dayton residents to user-friendly information and resources that matter most to them: health, jobs, money, education, and family.

Congressman Turner will also discuss a new partnership that will provide computers, training and in-home Internet access for 250 low income families in our community who will benefit from new found usage of all that technology has to offer.

Congressman Turner said, "I first saw the usefulness of the Beehive website when I was visiting Chicago and realized what a powerful resource it could be for Dayton. Therefore, I was excited that One Economy was willing and able to create this information source specific to Dayton. We are fortunate to have a good corporate citizen like AT&T partner with One Economy to bring its AccessAll initiative to our community. Working with St. Mary they will bring in-home Internet access and more opportunities for hope to low income families living in communities managed by St. Mary Development Corporation."
