Wall St. Journal/Zogby Poll Shows Titus Leading Gibbons

In the first poll conducted since the August 15th primary election, the Wall Street Journal Online / Zogby Interactive today published results showing State Senator Dina Titus ahead of Congressman Jim Gibbons, by a margin of 46.8% to 44.1%. A previous poll published by the group in July showed Gibbons with a head-to-head advantage of 45% to 39.9%.

The poll reinforces the findings of an August 23 analysis by The Cook Political Report, an independent, nonpartisan newsletter analyzing elections and campaigns. The group rated Nevada's gubernatorial race as a "toss-up," defined as one of the most competitive races.

"It's very exciting to see the first poll since the primary go our way," said Titus. "Although it's very early in the race, it shows the momentum our campaign has gained right out of the gate. Our message of change and our plan to address the issues of greatest importance to all Nevadans is resonating with voters across the state. We're looking forward to building on this early momentum and working hard to win the poll that really counts, on Election Day."
