Statement from Tom Kean Jr.
U.S. Senate candidate Tom Kean Jr. today made the following statement on the death of terrorist Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi:

"The elimination of Al Zarqawi was the culmination of many weeks of tracking by U.S. Special Forces and it marks a significant victory for our troops in the field.

Al Zarqawi's death is a serious blow to the terrorist network operating across the world. Historically, eliminating enemy leaders during a war is uncommon, and our troops in the field should be commended.

Like all New Jerseyans, I will never forget the horrific tragedy of September 11, 2001. While the elimination of Al Zarqawi is a significant and important development, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to defeating terrorism."
