128,000 Jobs Added in August

MIAMI—The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported today a payroll employment increase of 128,000 in August and a decline in the unemployment rate to 4.7 percent. Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) today commended the U.S. workers, businesses and Republican economic policies for the nation's continued economic successes.

"The U.S. economy continues to grow, having added jobs for 36 straight months and more than 1.7 million jobs in just the past year," Diaz-Balart said. "I am pleased to support policies that ensure that our nation's economy remains strong and our workers have opportunities and good paying jobs."
