Dear Friend,

I am New York City Councilmember Yvette Clarke and I am running for Congress because the communities I represent are being harmed by the mean-spirited leadership in power in Washington. An independent voice from Brooklyn is long overdue. I will not stand by while the vast majority of central Brooklyn residents remain marginalized by the policymakers who impact on our lives.

Let's Work Together . . .

We must expand access to healthcare, not reduce it. We must stand up for new Americans, not criminalize them or criminalize those who help them. We should put our money where our mouth is on education, and make sure our children have top- notch schools. We must protect a woman's fundamental right to make decisions about her own body, and expand her opportunities to care for herself and her family. We must assure that economic opportunities are inclusive, because our diverse communities must grow together, or our vast potential will not be realized.
