McConnell Statement On President Bush's Emergency Request For Additional Funding For The War On Terror

WASHINGTON, DC—U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell today issued the following statement on President George W. Bush's emergency request for additional funding for the war on terror.

"President Bush's address to the American people last night again demonstrated his solid leadership in the war on terrorism. He - and all those on the frontlines of this war - can count on my continued support.

"In the days and weeks ahead, Congress will receive and review the President's request for additional assistance for this effort. It is my hope that Congress will act quickly to provide support that is essential to our troops and the Iraqi and Afghan people."
