As an educator, Tim Walz strives to provide all students with hope for tomorrow and the opportunity to fulfill their potential. Walz recognizes that a public education is the corner stone of strong individuals and healthy communities. Walz knows first hand that local control and local accountability is the best formula for successful schools.

When it comes to financing public education, Tim Walz believes that all children deserve an equitable education. In order to provide the best education for all students, school districts must be directly accountable to local taxpayers. Walz also insists that Congress keep its promise to pay for a larger portion of special education costs. Increased funding from Washington for special education means more of our local money can go to new text books, building repairs, and additional teachers.
