Amy Klobuchar and Family Kick-Off "North Star Tour" of Small Towns Across Minnesota

Speaking before a crowd of 1,000 at a "Rally for Change" with former U.S. Senator John Edwards, U.S. Senate candidate Amy Klobuchar and her family announced the kick-off of a "North Star Tour". Klobuchar, joined by her husband John, daughter Abigail, her father Jim and her in-laws Bill and Marilyn, will hit lunch counters, living rooms and front porches from New Ulm to Eveleth to talk about why we need change in Washington.

"August is a great month to travel with your family. We're looking forward to talking with Minnesotans throughout the state," said Klobuchar.

Bill and Marilyn Bessler, Amy's mother and father-in-law are Mankato residents and will be leading the Southern swing. Jim Klobuchar, an Iron Range native, will be traveling to his hometown, Ely, and other locations on the Range.

"We are taking the North Star tour to your hometown to hear your stories about why you want to see a change in direction and to tell a few of our own family stories," said Klobuchar.

Highlights of the tour will include visits to the town where waterskiing was invented in 1922, the home of the world's largest ball of twine and the lutefisk capitol of the world.
