Pelosi on Congressman Ney's Announcement That He Will Not Seek Re-Election

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today about Congressman Bob Ney's announcement that he will not seek re-election this November:

"Mr. Ney's departure from Congress is welcome news in our fight to end the Republican culture of corruption, which continues to cost the American people at the gas pump, at the pharmacy, and in their home energy bills.

"We need a new direction that restores honesty to the People's House. Democrats have been leading the effort to end business as usual and restore truth and trust to our government with our Honest Leadership and Open Government Act that places the priorities of the American people above the special interests."
