Titus Honored For Work On Rural Nevada Development

Nevada State Senator Dina Titus will receive an award tonight (October 26, 2005) in Elko for her longtime support of rural development. Titus will be honored by the Elko County Economic Diversification Authority for her outstanding work supporting $1 million to create a Northeast Nevada Railport in Elko. She will also be honored for initiating and championing $3 million for infrastructure in rural Nevada.

The dinner will be held tonight at 6PM at the Stockman's Hotel and Casino in Elko, Nevada.

Elaine Barkdull, executive director of the Elko County Economic Diversification Authority:

"Dina along with seven other individuals will be recognized for their participation in Economic Development and the creation of the Northeast Nevada Railport. She understands the challenges of rural Nevada and she was instrumental in the passing of the $3 million infrastructure bill for rural Nevada."

Dina Titus:

"It is an honor to be recognized for my hard work supporting rural Nevada. Nevada's rural communities are growing quickly and we need to continue to support them with infrastructure and needed services. I remain committed to supporting and championing economic development in all of Nevada."
