Titus Speaks To National Audience About Turning Nevada Blue

May 11, 2006

Democratic gubernatorial front-runner Dina Titus will join Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano and former Virginia Governor Mark Warner in Washington D.C. tomorrow in a panel discussion about the 2006 elections. The event is sponsored by Emily's List, which has endorsed Titus.

"Four years ago, these two very dynamic governors won seats in conservative states," Titus said. "Now more than ever, Democrats are poised to take over constitutional offices in Nevada and restore balance to government. I think the national mood and polls show that Republicans have overstayed their welcome in Washington and in Nevada."

Titus's likely opponent in the November election is Congressman Jim Gibbons. "With President Bush's approval rating at an all-time low of 31 percent, and with Gibbons' record of supporting Bush policies over 90 percent of the time, Gibbons brings serious liabilities to the race," Titus said. "Nevadans certainly don't want Washington solutions to Nevada problems."
