A former state representative from Vernon, Courtney is challenging three-term Republican incumbent Rob Simmons, for the 2nd District that covers most of eastern

"I appreciate the confidence that the hardworking families of Connecticut have placed in my candidacy and I will continue to work tirelessly to bring change to our country," Courtney said in a statement.

Of the contributions this quarter, 70 percent were in amounts of less than $200 and the average contribution was about $66. Courtney said 85 percent of his contributions came from individuals and more than $16,000 came from online donors in the final three days of the quarter.
