Statement Regarding President Bush's Veto of H.R. 810

Today Congresswoman Gwen Moore released the following statement:

"President Bush has said that H.R. 810 crosses the moral line. It is so ironic that he'd use his first veto against the infirm, the sick, the weak, and the dying. Stem cell research was the first thing to prick his conscience? He's choosing to stop the very vehicle that would heal millions of human beings. Why didn't he veto the massive cuts to Medicaid, a service relied upon by millions, including children and pregnant women? And he apparently saw no moral conflict in all the tax bills he's signed that shift resources from the poor to the rich."
