A press release from the Jeff Crank for congress campaign says that radio ads coming from Club for Growth - which has endorsed Doug Lamborn - have been pulled from the airwaves by KVOR for being misleading.
Citadel Broadcasting Company's local Talk Radio 740 AM KVOR pulled the attack ad paid for by Club for Growth PAC today for violating the broadcasting company's policy against false or misleading advertisements. Citadel Broadcasting Company demanded proof of the claims made in the ad against congressional candidate Jeff Crank, which began airing on July 10, 2006. Club for Growth PAC could provide no public record, documentation or other proof supporting its claim that Jeff Crank supported the local property tax hike they claim he supported.
"Several credibility issues have been raised about Club for Growth's claims," said Jeff Crank. "They have repeatedly been asked for proof of their outrageous claims but have failed to provide anything to back up their false accusations. The voters know that's not fair. This group continues to do whatever it takes to get their man. I will continue to listen to the voters of the 5th District instead of inside-the-beltway groups. I am proud of my record of supporting tax cuts. I am thankful that local broadcasters are willing to stand up for the truth and stop the Club from lying to the voters. Thank you KVOR."
Club for Growth makes false accusations in their advertising about Jeff Crank's record on tax issues. Jeff stands by his record as a fiscal conservative. Jeff was the first in the 5th Congressional race to sign the "Taxpayer Protection Pledge" to never raise taxes when elected to Congress. Jeff is also the only candidate in the race to release a budget reform and spending plan to begin paying down the national debt in the next five years or less.
