Crank Announces Military to be First Priority in Campaign for Congress
Colorado Springs - Candidate for Congress in Colorado's 5th Congressional District Jeff Crank today announced support from several retired military officers, including six retired General officers including:

Former Commanding General of Fort Carson
* Major General Larry D. Fortner, USAF (Ret)
* Major General George M. Douglas, USAF (Ret)
* Major General Edward R. Bracken, USAF (Ret)
* Brigadier General James M. Johnston III, USAF (Ret)
* Brigadier General Teddy E. Rinebarger, USAF (Ret)
* Brigadier General Bob Stein, USAFR (Ret)
Jeff Crank also announced today that the military will be his first priority if elected to the U.S. Congress. "Among the most important accomplishments in my life, I'm most proud of the work I've done on behalf of our military," said Crank. "If elected to serve in Congress, I will work tirelessly to give the men and women in uniform the resources they need to fight the War on Terror and be most effective in protecting our country and our freedoms. In addition, I want to continue to work towards improving the quality of life of the men and women of our military and their families."
Jeff Crank worked over seven years on Capitol Hill as a senior aide to Representative Joel Hefley, mostly handling his military affairs issues and working as Hefley's liaison to the House Armed Services Committee. Crank authored on behalf of Hefley the Military Housing Privatization Initiative which put 110,000 military families in new and better housing around the United States. Crank is the only candidate in 5th Congressional District race who has worked with the Armed Services Committee and who has helped author federal legislation. Jeff was a strong leader to keep Fort Carson open through all four rounds of base closure, working first as the lead member of Joel Hefley's staff and then as a community leader to help ensure Fort Carson's survival.
