Homeland Security
Real security at home means ensuring the police, fire and other first responders have the tools and training they need. I will work with Homeland Security to ensure that this region is prepared to deal effectively with natural disasters, especially earthquakes and tornadoes. I will also act to protect locations in the 9th District that have a special vulnerability to terrorist attack, such as transportation hubs and bridges across the Mississippi.
I will be alert to ensure that intelligence is not misused for political gain. I will demand that those responsible for collecting and analyzing intelligence be held accountable for failures.
