Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart Praises Continued Deficit Reduction

—Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) today praised Republican economic policies for contributing to the continuing reduction in the federal deficit, which is expected to shrink to less than $300 billion for this year due to increased tax revenues.

"Republican economic policies have proven to work," Diaz-Balart said. "In addition to a shrinking deficit, our economy is thriving, more and more Americans are working, and wages are rising.

"I am committed to fighting waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayer money," Diaz-Balart concluded. "By being responsible stewards of taxpayer money, the federal government is better able to reduce the deficit and meet the needs of the country."
