Gov. Rounds to hold education town hall meeting in Forestburg

PIERRE, S.D. - Gov. Mike Rounds announced that Forestburg will be the site of the next education-focused town hall meeting on Tuesday, July 11 at 7 p.m. (CDT) in the Sanborn Central High School Gymnasium.

"We look forward to visiting with local citizens interested in the future of education in Forestburg and the Sanborn Central School District," said the governor on the announcement.

The intent of the meeting is to invite administrators, teachers, board members and the community to share data and information to ensure that the future education system in the Sanborn Central School District prepares students for college, technical school and the workplace.

"Each community we visit is faced with its own unique challenges. This forum provides us an opportunity to learn more about those issues," said Gov. Rounds.
In the fall of 2005, the Sanborn Central School District school district had 252 students enrolled, including 43 students enrolled in the Upland Colony.
