Calvert Supports Transportation Appropriations Bill

Today, Congressman Ken Calvert supported H.R. 5576, the Transportation, Treasury, Housing and Urban Development, the Judiciary, the District of Columbia, and Independent Agencies Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2007. The bill passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 406 to 22.

"Solving our area's transportation problems is one of my highest priorities. Residents of Riverside and Orange counties deserve relief from the traffic congestion they face every day. H.R. 5576 will help by providing funding for the full spectrum of the transportation infrastructure, including highways, air travel and railways" said Calvert.

H.R. 5576 provides funding for the Federal-aid highways program, the Federal Aviation Administration, and Amtrak. The bill funds the Federal-aid highways program at $39.1 billion, the Federal Aviation Administration at $15.2 billion, and $1.1 billion for Amtrak.
