Pelosi: Democratic Women's Working Group Launches Online Initiative to Reach Younger Women

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today commending the launch of "Young Women Ask Congresswomen: An Online Congressional Dialogue with the Democratic Women's Working Group and the Younger Women's Task Force:"

"I commend Congresswoman Hilda Solis and Congresswoman Lois Capps, Chair and Vice Chair of the Democratic Women's Working Group, for their leadership on this new initiative.

"Every day in the halls of Congress, we debate issues that impact the lives of younger women - making college education affordable and accessible, closing the wage gap, and protecting women's constitutional rights.

"The Democratic Women's Working Group is committed to ensuring that younger women are heard in these national debates. No one will fight for the issues that women care about better than women themselves: providing our children with the best education, ensuring that our families have access to affordable health care and housing, and guaranteeing equal pay in the workplace are just a few of the issues in which the advocacy of young women can be a powerful force.

"‘Congressional Dialogues' brings a new voice to the Democratic Women's Working Group, one with the energy and idealism of younger women committed to changing all women's lives. Their voices have the power to show young women across the country that they can and must influence our national debate and improve the lives of all Americans."
