Graves Travels to Middle East and Europe
U.S. Congressman Sam Graves is spending his Memorial Day recess in the Middle East and Europe visiting our troops and meeting with top military and civilian leaders. Graves will be visiting Afghanistan, Germany, Iraq, Pakistan, Turkey and Ukraine.
"The American people need answers to some tough questions as we move forward in the Global War on Terror," said Congressman Graves. "I will be asking some of the world's most important leaders for these answers."
Congressman Graves will be a part of an esteemed, bipartisan congressional delegation, including House Majority Whip Roy Blunt, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, Democratic Caucus Chairman Jim Clyburn, and Senator George Allen.
Graves will meet with American troops in both Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as spend time with injured soldiers in Germany.
"I am honored to have the opportunity to visit with our troops stationed overseas this Memorial Day holiday," said Graves. "I will be asking our soldiers and military leaders what we can do at home to help support them as they continue to help us in defending this great nation."
This will be Graves' second congressional delegation trip as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Graves last traveled to Iraq in December of 2003 to visit American troops.
