138,000 New Jobs Created in April

Bureau of Labor Statistics today announced that the economy added jobs for the 32nd consecutive month after creating 138,000 new jobs in April. Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL) called attention to the continued evidence that Republican economic policies are working.

"Our great nation is in an unqualified economic boom," Diaz-Balart said, "and Republican policies are helping to fuel it. From nurses and bankers to first responders and waitresses, more and more Americans are joining our workforce and helping our remarkable economy thrive. Also, thanks to this economic growth, our federal deficit keeps shrinking. House Republicans are committed to continuing commonsense economic policies that have proven to work and promote prosperity."
