Dear Friends:
This week, the U.S. House of Representatives recognized the 150th Anniversary of the Minnesota National Guard by unanimously passing H.Con.Res. 37, a resolution recognizing that the role of the Minnesota National Guard is extremely important to the security and freedom of America. I was honored to speak on the House floor to congratulate the Minnesota National Guard and its members for their spirit of dedication and service to the State of Minnesota and the nation. On Thursday, I joined religious and humanitarian groups calling for action from the U.S. government to stop the continuing violence against the people of Sudan. Laws are important, but they are only words if there is no action. The time is now for action for the people of Sudan, action to stop the killing and action to start the healing. Sincerely,
