Baldwin Supports Letter Carriers' Food Drive
On May 13th, leave non-perishable goods by your mailbox
Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin encourages Wisconsinites to participate in the annual National Letter Carriers/USPS Food Drive on Saturday, May 13th. In cooperation with the Community Action Coalition and the United Way, when letter carriers deliver mail on the 13th, they also will pick up any non-perishable food donation left by the mailbox.
The one day, nationwide effort is part of a drive to fill food bank pantries during the summer months when levels are, traditionally, low. Those interested in donating should place non-perishable food items near their mailboxes or bring them to their local post office. All of the donations will be distributed to local food banks, shelters, and pantries to help people in need in the local community.
"I salute our letter carriers for their commitment to this nationwide effort to reduce hunger. This is a great opportunity to directly help people in our local communities and I urge everyone to participate," said Congresswoman Baldwin.
