Ms. JAYAPAL. Mr. Speaker, gas prices have almost doubled since Trump came in and started his illegal Iran war. Groceries, housing, and healthcare are all unaffordable.

Republicans would have you believe that there is no money to help working families. Trump himself said that he does not ``think about Americans' financial situation,'' and he said that it is ``not possible'' for the government to fund Medicare, Medicaid, and childcare.

Just last week, Republicans slashed $141 million for food for pregnant women and children, but now, magically, Republicans have found another $70 billion for ICE and CBP, even though those agencies still have $100 billion left from the $140 billion that Republicans gave them in the big, bad, betrayal bill.

Meanwhile, Trump's masked ICE agents are killing U.S. citizens in broad daylight, kidnapping and disappearing parents in front of their children's schools, and ramming down doors without warrants.

Private, for-profit prison operators are laughing all the way to the bank as they rake in billions in profits by incarcerating over 60,000 immigrants of all immigration statuses every single night, refusing to uphold basic standards or give medical care to people in custody.

Ms. JAYAPAL. Mr. Speaker, since Trump came back into office, as ranking member of the Immigration Subcommittee, I get notified every time there is a death in detention, and there have been 50 unprecedented deaths in detention since Trump came into office. This bill has zero guardrails and throws another $70 billion to ICE and CBP. Vote ``no.'' It is a sham.
