Ms. VELAZQUEZ. Mr. Speaker, almost a year ago, we debated a horrific piece of Republican legislation that cut more than a trillion dollars from healthcare and nearly $200 billion in food assistance for hungry families, all so billionaires could get another tax cut.

That same bill handed over $170 billion to DHS for immigration enforcement--money used to supercharge ICE and CBP as they terrorized immigrant communities, trampled the Constitution, brutalized and killed American citizens in the streets. Since then, life has only gotten more unaffordable. What is the Republican answer? Their answer is another $70 billion for immigration enforcement that is already out of control. It is a slap in the face to every American struggling to get by. It is a slap in the face to every small business in this country that is struggling.

Mr. Speaker, I urge my colleagues to vote ``no.''
