Mr. THOMPSON of Pennsylvania. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize May as National Military Appreciation Month, a time to honor and recognize all those who have served or are currently serving in our Armed Forces.

In 1999, the late Senator John McCain introduced S. Res. 33. It passed unanimously and was adopted by the House, officially designating May as Military Appreciation Month.

Mr. Speaker, I want to specifically recognize the thousands of Pennsylvanians currently in uniform. Your courage and selflessness do not go unnoticed. We applaud your commitment to defending our Nation's freedoms at all costs.

Through every conflict since our founding, the men and women of our Armed Forces have never wavered. Our veterans and our fallen gave their all for every American. We owe them a debt of gratitude that spans generations.

This month, let us unite as a nation to salute the brave men and women who protect our values and flag at all costs.

Madam Speaker, it is important we continue to support our Armed Forces, veterans, and their families.

May God bless them and their families.
