Mr. Speaker, I rise in strong support of this resolution.
Let's not forget that one of the opening acts of this war of choice against Iran was the massacre of scores of school children, little girls committed by our military, in our name.
While the President mumbled futile lies to escape his responsibilities as Commander in Chief, Hegseth did beat poetry about replacing politically correct legality with unhinged lethality.
If that wasn't reckless enough, it was amplified by the President's own social media tirades where millions of people were reduced to targets in an early morning threat to obliterate an entire civilization--a contemptible failure of moral leadership.
Sorry for being PC, but those kids would be alive today if Congress had done our job and restrained the President's lust for power. We have a chance to act before more lives are lost and more damage is done.
I have never been more embarrassed for my Republican friends in Congress who have alternated between total silence and cheering on this madness. It is long past time for us to grow a brain, grow a spine, and stand up for the true interests of the American people.
