Mr. CRANK. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize a true gem of the Colorado Springs region, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, otherwise known around the world as the Race to the Clouds.

Founded by entrepreneur and philanthropist Spencer Penrose over 100 years ago, it has grown exponentially since its beginning.

Being the second-oldest auto race in America and one of the most iconic motorsports events, many racing legends have pushed the limits of their automobiles to take on the hill climb. The course includes 156 turns to the top of America's Mountain and a finishing elevation of 14,115 feet above sea level.

Even today, it draws competitors, media, and fans from around the world, highlighting Colorado Springs as a premier destination for outdoor recreation, innovation, and international sport.

Mr. Speaker, I ask that you join me in celebrating 104 years of remarkable tradition at Pikes Peak.
