Gov. Rounds Praises Biodiesel Refinery Announcement

Gov. Mike Rounds has issued the following statements regarding the announcement of the SD Soybean Processors on their joint venture with Transocean Group to develop and operate a biodiesel refinery in Volga, SD:

"This new biodiesel refinery is an incredible example of our South Dakota farmers and businessmen investing in their own future. By adding value to our raw soybean product, our farmers are increasing their profits which can stay in South Dakota. This is clearly a step in the right direction for South Dakota."

"This wouldn't have happened without the involvement and hard work of many people. I congratulate South Dakota Soybean Processors and Transocean Group for having the foresight to create this new opportunity and for thinking about future generations. I also want to commend our Legislature for the work they have done to add incentives that promote expanded processing and development of our ag products."
