Press Release

Date: Sept. 30, 2024

“Sheriff Juan Figueroa has been at the forefront of bolstering safety and community policing in Ulster County, and I am thrilled to appoint him to the Congressional Badge of Bravery Review Board. Sheriff Figueroa – a proud son of Puerto Rican parents who grew up in the Bronx – was stationed in Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines during his service with the U.S. Marine Corps and deeply understands the importance of public service, courage and sacrifice. Sheriff Figueroa’s breadth of experience in various positions across law enforcement agencies makes him uniquely qualified for this role.
