Upon taking the majority, House Republicans unified around an ambitious agenda to preserve freedom, strengthen our economy, protect communities, and hold the government accountable – and we’ve kept those promises. Throughout the 118th Congress, House Republicans fought hard to combat the many crises created by the Biden-Harris Administration’s disastrous policies and address real concerns Americans face every day.
House Republicans passed several bills to shut down the Biden-Harris border crisis, including H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, and addressed the Administration’s war on American energy with H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act. When parents rights were under attack by the Biden-Harris agenda, we passed H.R. 5, the Parents Bill of Rights Act, to protect parents’ right to be involved in their child’s education. House Republicans passed legislation to stand up for our allies, like Israel, and confront our adversaries, like China. We also fought to secure our elections by passing the SAVE Act, which would require proof of citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections. These are just a few things we accomplished on the House Floor.
In our committees, we engaged in robust oversight to hold the Biden-Harris Administration accountable for its many failures. Our committees exposed key Administration officials’ roles in the catastrophic Afghanistan withdrawal and the many ways the Administration knowingly and intentionally undermined U.S. border security to create the crisis we currently see at the border. With antisemitism running rampant on American campuses, we held college administrators accountable for their failure to provide a safe environment for Jewish students. We also established a task force to investigate the attempted assassinations of President Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for president, and ensure the American people’s choice of president is never taken out of their hands by an unhinged individual.
With just a slim majority and control of only body of Congress, House Republicans have taken many steps to address the issues Americans care about the most – but we have much more to do to save our country from the chaos and destruction that we have seen under the Biden-Harris Administration and their far-left partners in Congress. House Republicans remain committed to fighting for the American people: The future of our country is at stake.
