Capito Announces $34,000 Grant for Calhoun County Emergency Medical Squad

WASHINGTON- Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) today announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved a $34,000 Rural Development grant for the Calhoun County Emergency Medical Squad to purchase two new ambulances.

"Improving rural health delivery is a priority of mine in Congress, and so I'm pleased to announce this important investment for Calhoun County," said Capito. "This $34,000 grant ensures Calhoun County's first responders are equipped with the best resources necessary to protect the citizens of Calhoun County and save lives.

USDA Rural Development's mission is to deliver programs in a way that will support increasing economic opportunity and improve the quality of life of rural residents. As a venture capital entity, Rural Development has invested over $63 billion since 2000 to provide equity and technical assistance to finance and foster growth in homeownership, business development, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
