Mr. HARRIS. Mr. Speaker, I include in the Record the following Proclamation in honor of the 50th anniversary of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore class of 1974.

Whereas, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore was established in 1886 as the Delaware Conference Academy and renamed several times since; and

Whereas, between 1948 and 1970 it was known as the Maryland State College; and

Whereas, in July of 1970 it was renamed to its current name as the University of Maryland Eastern Shore; and

Whereas, the class of 1974 was and is the first class to graduate under its new name; and

Whereas, on its 30th anniversary class reunion, the class of 1974 resolved to raise $1,000,000 to be donated and contributed to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and has since raised and donated $650,000 which constitutes three-fourths of the resolved amount.

Now, therefore, I, Andy Harris, Member of Congress, do hereby proclaim and celebrate the class of 1974 of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on its 50th reunion anniversary.
