ADERHOLT STATEMENT ON RESIGNATION OF REP. TOM DELAY

Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) today made the following statement on the resignation announcement of Representative Tom DeLay (R-Texas):

"Tom DeLay has represented his district well and has been one of the most effective leaders in the House of Representatives in recent history. Under his leadership the House has provided seniors with prescription drug benefits, stood firm in the War on Terror, implemented tax cuts that have helped the everyday working family, and allocated money for many transportation projects that have fueled the economy in north Alabama. Tom has been a friend to so many in the House and has had an impact on so much of the legislation that has helped America.

"I trust that Texas's 22nd District will send someone to Congress who shares Tom's conservative agenda and will proudly represent the values of the American people."
