McCollum Statement Regarding Announcement of the Twin Cities Ford Plant Closure

"The announcement today that St. Paul's Ford Twin Cities Assembly Plant will be closing in 2008 is sad news for our community and devastating for the working families who have given their lives to keep America's auto industry competitive. Over the upcoming months, Ford, the United Auto Workers along with federal, state and local government officials need to put the needs of the working men and women first. I am committed to doing everything possible to ensure that the federal government will be actively engaged in this major transition for Ford's employees and their families, as well as minimizing the economic impact of this announcement to the City of St. Paul."
