Mr. CASTRO of Texas. Mr. Speaker, America's colleges and universities should be places where all students can learn, grow, and express their ideas without harassment or discrimination.
Since the October 7 attacks on Israel by Hamas, I've been communicating with college and university presidents, school districts, and law enforcement leaders to make sure we combat any rise in antisemitism, Islamophobia, or other forms of discrimination.
I voted YES on Amendment No. 114 to H.R. 5894--Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2024 on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 to combat antisemitism on campus and I would likewise support a similar amendment to combat Islamophobia or other forms of discrimination.
