U.S. Representative DeGette Applauds Tentative Settlement in U.S. Mint Sexual Harassment Suit

- U.S. Representative Diana DeGette (D-CO) released the following statement in response to the United States Mint proposed settlement of the sex discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaint filed by its female employees.

"I applaud today's proposed $9 million settlement of the U.S. Mint's female employees' class action complaint. This settlement reinforces our firm commitment to stop sexual harassment wherever it may occur.

"For the past three years I have been prodding the U.S. Mint to ensure these complaints were resolved. On hearing this news today I was able to breathe a sigh of relief for the female employees and hope this settlement results in better working conditions not only at the Mint, but across America."
