Kentuckians Support NOAA Efforts

— U.S. Representative Hal Rogers (KY-05) announced today that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has awarded a contract that supports the jobs of more than 100 Kentuckians that are working to preserve climate and weather records for the federal government. The 5-year, $31 million contract was awarded directly to SourceCorp, Inc., which operates several facilities in southern and eastern Kentucky.

"Our region has firmly established itself as a force in competing for the jobs of the next century," said Rogers. "Our economic future relies on our intellect, skills, and willingness to use the tools of the modern computer age to attract and keep jobs. With this project, Kentuckians are using their strong work ethic to help NOAA continue its goal of preserving important weather data that impacts the life of every American. This is a great combination for our region."
