"I remain appalled that Speaker McCarthy and other extremist Republicans are weaponizing the powers of Congress as they try to rewrite the history of January 6th, which was a brutal, deadly insurrection. There is no defending it.

Granting unfettered access of Capitol footage to hand-selected hyper-partisan media outlets -- over the strenuous objections of the security U.S. Capitol Police -- remains unpatriotic and downright dangerous. I will continue to push back on Republican efforts to undercut the hard work of those charged with keeping us safe and compromise America's national security."
