Comer Applauds Senate Passage of Resolution Blocking D.C.'s Anti-Police Bill

Press Release

"I applaud the Senate for passing House Republicans' resolution to block the D.C. Council's dangerous anti-policing legislation. It is an important step in the right direction to make our nation's capital safe for residents, visitors, and the federal workforce. Every day, the men and women of the Metropolitan Police Department walk across the blue line to bravely serve and assist Americans living in and visiting our nation's capital. In the midst of a historic crime wave and recruiting shortfalls at the Department, one would think the D.C. Council would seek measures to provide assets to these heroes. Instead, the D.C. Council has drafted policy after policy to strip resources, shift blame, and make the men and women of MPD's job harder. Congress will continue to block attempts by the D.C. Council to pass radical and anti-police legislation and support our men and women in MPD who protect and serve the District of Columbia."
