Rep. Lee Announces Over $6.7 Million Grant to Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada to Create Energy Efficient Bus Fleet

Today, U.S. Rep. Susie Lee (Nev.-03) announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) a $6,737,042 grant under its Low or No Emission (Low-No) Grant Program and Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program. This specific grant funding will be used to purchase two new hydrogen fuel cell electric buses and solar lighting at 250 bus stops in disadvantaged communities, making public transportation safer and more sustainable.

"So many southern Nevadans rely on public transportation every day, and investments like this one are critical to ensuring that we not only make our public transportation system cleaner and more efficient, but also as safe and accessible as possible," said Rep. Lee. "I'm proud to announce this grant, and I look forward to working with the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada to support sustainable transportation infrastructure in our state."
