Capito Announces Funding to Crack Down on Underage Drinking

WASHINGTON - The West Virginia Division of Criminal Justice Services will receive a $350,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to help fight underage drinking, according to Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV).

"I'm pleased to announce this $350,000 investment in the effort to protect the youth of West Virginia," Capito said. "The negative impact of underage drinking is staggering. Not only does it take the lives of too many of our young people, it also costs West Virginia millions of dollars every year to pay for the often unmentioned consequences such as medical expenses and work loss related to underage drinking."
