"I told reporters during my weekly press conference that House Democrats are building on our historic record this work period. We will advance critical legislation from @OversightDems, and stand ready to take up a Continuing Resolution to ensure that the government remains open.

"Throughout the August District Work period, I traveled across the U.S. & spoke with folks about the #InflationReductionAct. This bill, one of Dems' historic accomplishments this Congress, will lower health care costs, act on climate, tackle inflation, & reduce the deficit.

"Finally, I told press that this week offers a stark contrast for Americans. While Dems are championing legislation to reduce costs for working families, Republicans are introducing extremist legislation to further restrict women's freedom to make their own health care decisions."
